JONG WHA PARK -PIANIST-
heidrun • August 11. 2008 • URBAN COMMUNICATION
last week we all went to the french cathedral to listen to the berlin international classical music festival and especially to watch the extraordinary performance of JONG WHA PARK, a good friend of PLATOON, whom we met in seoul:.he played in the master series, executing works of schumann, bach and chopin.
it was great! only set back was the bad acoustics in the room -there was a sort of echo that was distracting the artist, first of all, but also the audience. It´s kind of strange that no one thought about it beforehand.
nonetheless the pianist was brilliant. a wonderful piano-concert.; the listeners applauded enthusiastically and JONG gave us 4 extras.

Trolleybooks at PLATOON
Marcello • August 1. 2008 • PLATOON.area
Trolleybooks at PLATOON has been an amazing event! we are very glad to have met Gigi and Hannah, they are two very special persons and we really enjoyed exchanging views with them... and i guess the same goes for them...in fact Gigi is now, as he likes to say, PLATOON member number 1! and i can assure you that we also switched completely in a TROLLEY-Mood these days. a special thanks goes also to all of you who came....we knew that it wasnt going to be pleasant, but life is not pleasant sometimes, and that reminds us that we can actually do something about it....each of us in our own way.
we sincerely hope something moved inside you... at some point i was literally shaking.
Lucky Michaels – photographer of Shelter - also delivered his message extraordinarly. we still have his exhibition in our recruitment office..in fact you are very welcome to come and have a closer look this week, before we send them back to London.
the day after the event, Gigi&Hannah left for Dubrovnik with their Trolley-van...this man is on a serious mission, and it´s a very noble one, the one against any form of injustice! Big up for you Trolley warriors, we at PLATOON are completely on your side and hope to see you again sometimes soon.
watch ! opening of the PLATOON.recruitment office

HELD
Marcello • July 28. 2008 • PLATOON.members
another contemporary dance performance definitely worth seeing…choreographer and performer Morgan Belenguer, (RIDDLE) invites you to his and Melanie Lane´s latest work: HELD HELD is a documentation made of faded memories: wandering in the corners of rooms, through silent walls and on worn-out carpets. looking for traces and leads belonging to whom left them behind.
the story of these memories will be told through the observation of an environment rather then through persons. It will feel like a room awakening… a landscape of sound, video and random materials being built and taken apart again, a continuously changing architecture made of space and ambiance in which the performance turns in circle.
Premiere: July 31st, 20.30Uhr Further Perfromances: 1st-3rd August, 20.30Uhr. Dock 11, Kastanianallee 79.
...and here the latest video, with music composed by Chris Clark- warprecords
a construction of space
enclosed within
a history
deconstructed
rebuilt, suspended
to capture and re-live
a past that remains held
