Blue&Joy: Greatest Failures!

Daniele #3083 and Fabio #3062, the artist-duo behind blue&joy are on their way to milan for their latest exhibition: Greatest Failures. the 11th discouraging exhibition of blue and joy.








i went to wish them good luck in their atelier just opposite our headquarters... and i was amazed once again to see their incredible work... the hilarious tragicomic characters blue&joy, one looking happy but is actually irrevocably sad, the other looking sad but feeling the other way round, embody a sort of inverted cliche that probably resides in each one of us.













it would be an easy shot thinking that their ironic characters represent their own alter-ego, it is much more likely, as they put it, that daniele&fabio were invented by two albino cabaret artist named blue&joy.


















the feeling of disenchantment streaming throughout their paintings seems, at times, to be reflecting their own resentment towards the glossy world of advertisement, which instead of keeping like a skeleton in the closet, they animate in each of their paintings, all of them telling a story, floating... like a still-shot of a mood.

STIMMEN FUER DEN MINDESTLOHN

last week we had the first action for the new campaign "votes for the minimum wage" at alexanderplatz.









we tested the new look of the campaign with ballot-boxes & work-wear and i must admit that, despite the mean weather, it was a great success!















it was incredible, people were approaching us to cast their vote...it is a sign that citizens really want a statutory minimum wage in Germany.















in less then two hours we managed to gather 344 votes!!!
















here the whole troop of activist who came from all over germany to test the action...they will now instruct other activists in their respective regions so to effectively coordinate this nationwide campaign.

Skizum Studios Berlin

PLATOON.recruit Scott #3203 sent us a groovy DJ mix from his latest party at skizum studios. Scott is a multitalented individual with a very noble mission. he is in fact developing the Universal Humane Needs Assessment, a project trying to synthesize life’s experience and wisdom with the aim to create a balanced and sustainable future for mankind.

IRAQ WAR ENDS - theyesmen distribute fake NYTIMES

the yes men did one of their tricks again...this time they faked a New York Times issue dated 4th July 2009 reporting the end of the war in Iraq, the closure of guantanamo and the indiction of ex-president Bush on charges of high treason.

the newspaper was distributed to commuters in all major US cities last wednesday. sounds like pressure for the new administration, as well as a reminder for their voters who certainly expect Obama to keep his election promises. and who knows...it might be a prophecy...

Closure of the Ospedale S.Giacomo on streik.tv

two weeks after the closure of the Ospedale S.Giacomo we are now able to show you this streik.tv report telling the struggle of the S.giacomo employees,who fought until the end to save their hospital. we coordinated the operation by deploying some of our special forces into the area. trooper Federico #3098, a warzone cameraman, and Osama #3282, also a cameraman, went on location to meet with Luca #3091, one of the members of the S.Giacomo committee that occupied the building to prevent its closure.

the story of the Ospedale S.Giacomo isn´t finished yet, the ex-employees are still determined to get back to their hospital, and they actually managed to unmask the dirty tricks of President of Lazio region, Piero Marrazzo, who is also president of a foundation for private health care....somethings smells rotten here!
