Annie Leibovitz
Martin • February 6. 2009 • URBAN COMMUNICATION
Not only did she take pictures of pregnant Demi Moore, Brad Pitt and many other A-list celebrities, she even had the guts to requested the Queen to remove her tiara while she was taking a portrait of her. If Queen Elizabeth agreed to do so and of course many other insights into Leibovitz’s work, personal experiences, and views can be seen in the exhibition „A Photografer’s Life“ from February 21st to May 24th at C/O Berlin in the Postfuhramt in Oranienburger Straße in Berlin. On Saturday, the 21st Leibovitz will hold a lecture, the pre-selling starts from February 7th at C/O Berlin.

the universe of paul klee
Julia • February 6. 2009 • URBAN COMMUNICATION
some weeks ago I went through a journey of paul klees universe in the berlin national gallery.the walls of the museum appear rather empty despite the multiplicity of works ... the gate to Klees universe lies in the detail of his works. – but the one who´s looking for detailed illustration might never enter his world.
in klees universe everything lies rather below the surface and the main aspects of his works appear only when you look behind the mimics of the characters portrayed in his paintings.
all in all a highly recommendable exhibition - if you have a chance go and check it out.

Ohyun Kwon • February 3. 2009 • URBAN COMMUNICATION
this is a piece i saw at the nam june paik art center a couple of weeks ago which stuck in my mind... it is a performance at the north axe of the world (geographic north pole) where the artist stood for 24 hours and moved/turned himself in the opposite direction the earth is turning... here is a link to that piece (his website) but unfortunately you can't see the video (which was a timelapse photography piece)... but you can get an idea from the pictures there... also there is some other interesting works on his site.http://www.roofvogel.org/test/nummernegen.html
shaun the sheep
Martin • February 1. 2009 • URBAN COMMUNICATION
First thing I saw this morning was a hilarious sheep called Shaun as I surfed TV channels and got stuck on a children's show. I don't know where this Wallis & Gromit-esque creature comes from and how long it has been there but it made me laugh to the point where my coffee was coming out of my nose. Check out Shaun but be sure to put your beverage down first.
