"i am from busan" @ agit space

in busan i couldn't miss out on the opportunity to check out busan's subculture space agit. street artist kay2 took some time out of his busy schedule to give us a tour. close to busan university, agit was opened in may 2008 and is basically run by a bunch of people who are known as '재미난 복수' or 'a fun revenge'. they organised mainly public events and street performances and have now found a home in a former kindergarten.
when we were there, a graffiti exhibtion with graffiti artists from busan was on. some of them we will also see again in july at the 420ml exhibition...

MBB is a fictional bank, making a statement about the absurd „Bailout-Beggars“. The MBB bank offers its costumers to get rid of their unwanted credits and toxic mortgages, just like "the big ones do“, in a decent and effortless way.

Known all over the world the incredible ohyun kwon (seen in the first picture) also known as THE.MOUSETRAP has been to PLATOON.Kunsthalle today.we're really lucky he passed by on his way to bora bora where he's going to give a tattoo workshop.

..had a lot of fun with all the food when we arrived and enjoyed our late lunch in a fish restaurant..brr..no pictures of me whilst eating..hate fish and seafood.therefor the grumpy face in the third picture.

big camera

While everyone is focused on the new iPhone I found this really favela looking camera, but it just works!!!
Some person in Japan had the idea of making the most powerful camera you can build in your house, he used an EPSON scanner and some old Canon lenses, a lot of tape, glue and some wood to build this 130 megapixel camera. It produces images of 13,068 x 10,173 pixels, it has some noise on the images it takes, but you have to consider that the lenses are old ones, and the scanner is using 1,200dpi, I will say that the system is 20 times cheaper than the most powerful DSLR.
It is really impressive to see the camera working and some of the sample photos you can find on Flickr.
We need to find a new way to use our old stuff, and who knows we may find something great like this scanner camera...

how to lose friends with big feet

must have been at least 20 something years ago that i was so exited to get my first adidas. back then - it was the best - called adidas alround - and having all your mates sign your sneakers with a black edding. ever since - passing by the masses of brands - thousands of choices, i always prefered my adidas. of course, i tried some other ones. nice, good and quite comfy, too. but my heart remained with adidas.

today should have been another day, exchanging one of my old ones - and felt for a quick shopping at the originals store, here in berlin münzstrasse. "great shoes" i thought browsing through the shelfs.

but then the shocking news - didn't wanna believe it - "sorry my friend - i am really pissed, too, but unfortunately i don't receive any shoes in your size 13" the guy, who really wanted to and could have sold one or even two pairs to me within only ten minutes!

ok - that was quick and sad. where are all the basketball stars - with big feet - my former idols - wearing adidas?

on my way back into the PLATOON, i stopped by the asian onitsuka tiger store, stylewise almost more a sushi restaurant. and within another few minutes i tried on several pairs in my size 13.

and - went out and spent 100 bugs for a new pair of sneakers.

as it is with long lasting friendships - of course you will give a second, sometimes a third chance, but then you might wanna start looking for new friends.

by the way - they are celebrating their 60th birthday this year, too.

maintenance on subwaytrack U2

riding home on my bike, i have to pass by the intersection schönhauser allee and bornholmer straße. on this evening spectators had a perfect view on the effect of steelworkers cutting steel. with their blowtorches. they were cutting steel on the U2 bridge going over the intersection, causing showers of sparks pouring on to the tarmac below. Spectators gathered and photographers were busy taking pictures and shooting movies. a spectacle at night, recalling memorys of childhood burning sparkler’s on christmas eve.
