Marcello • September 24. 2009 • POLITICAL AFFAIRS
the mural art by Victor Ash has been finally uncovered today!for days we had hanging the HUNGERLOHNPARTEI blow up, and it had a fantastic resonance.#
STIMMEN FUR DEN MINDESTLOHN is the theme of the work.
in the last weeks we saw a growing recognition that people want the minimum wage in Germany!
thats why it became one of the most debated issues in the run up to national election.
if you speak german, you should definitely check out this article spiegel and this other one by DGB.

hue-man exhibition
ubin • September 22. 2009 • URBAN COMMUNICATION
in the streets of hongdae we bounced accidentally into a little art exhibtion called hue-man in the location "space hole and corner". artists gugjin park, jiyeong yun and seungtae hong showed their amazing sculptures: "mutant" humans or humans in unusual situations made of silicon.the sculptures clearly remind of ron mueck, an australian sculptor who is known for his silicon human sculptures. just as him the hue-man artists made their sculptures highly detailed and scarily realisitc from all angles. whereas mueck's sculptures strike through their non-realistic hyperdimensional sizes, the hue-man artists also break taboos showing naked women with tails or four breasts, babies in capsules or a little girl with blood on her nightdress.
i got goosebumbs and i really liked it.
each face has its own expression...
a life-sized man taped on the wall.
the size of the tail woman was only about one meter..
the expression of this huge crying baby was incredibly realistic..
honney's facial expression is incredible as well. in contrast to her the baby looks peaceful and quiet.

swatch mtv playground
ubin • September 21. 2009 • URBAN COMMUNICATION
last friday we went to the swatch mtv playground event at aa design museum in hongdae.this event takes place across europe and asia and offers young artists to proof their creativity in art battles and live paintings.
while having drinks and sitting in cosy armchairs we watched the grafitti battle between the artists basara and mesus. have a look...
while basara in the purple shirt tried to convince with clear structures and less colors...
mesus in the purple sweater preferred colorful, rather chaotic street styles.
he was the winner of the competition.

DAILY MADNESS IN THE WORLD
heidrun • September 19. 2009 • PLATOON.area
many people came to listen gigi gianuzzi from trolleybooks last thursday at the PLATOON DONNERSTAGS-BAR.he presented several slideshows, samples of recent photography-books which are part of his publishing program. the most of us were deeply moved by the pictures. we all know about the world´s problems and we have all seen many publications about these topics. but these photographers show us in an unspectacular, almost unbearable normal view, the daily madness in the world.
but if you think that this show left us only with a bitter taste of embarassement: then you´re mistaken.
no, it was a warm atmosphere among each other, with interesting talks.....and of course lots of drinks.
it was a profound, very good evening.
thank you gigi for coming again to PLATOON. we hope to see TROLLEYBOOKS on the shelves of Berlin´s bookstores sometime soon!
