coming weekend begins our new FIT.still in time to the world climate conference in December we become punctual part of the official world rescue program, part of the unofficial we are anyway.

if they can build recklessly in mauerpark and on the spree, disregardful of Berlin´s residents wishes, then fuck art & culture... Berlin should not be anymore a playground for tourists... it will just be a grim OIL DRILLING SITE!

hello from new intern

Hello, my name is June; quickly pronounced version of Ji-eun, my Korean name. Many of you may have seen me already wandering around the building. I now am a new intern at PLATOON KUNSTHALLE Seoul; I started working from yesterday. I'm at my third year majoring in art management at University of Toronto. This year, I'm taking some time off to transfer to design school. My interests lie in photography, ceramics, and silk screen printing.

This summer, I was around the area and coincidently saw the building. Then, I became very curious and started doing research on the internet. The more I got to know about PLATOON KUNSTHALLE, the more I wanted to be part of it. So, I made inquiries about the internship via phone, had an interview in person, and got a position! (thanks to everyone who were involved in the process)

The plan is to work here for 5 months; until Feb. I feel very lucky to be given a chance like this and hope that I could become nice addition to this creative group.

DRILLING FOR OIL IN MAUERPARK!

Invitation for the drilling of the Oilfield ‘SPREEFELD 1’

Mauerpark, Wendnesday , 7. October 12:30 - 14:30 PM


Oil is getting rare these days, alternative technologies, (i.e hydrogen cars) are developed too slowly and unfortunately on a small scale. the world is still heavily dependent on raw materials and technology from the 19th century, like the V-engine in cars. the engine of our civilization is mostly the energy obtained by oil.

that´s why it´s getting worth again to develop the smallest oilfield. it has been a while since experts started to suspect that an important oil field should also be found underneath Berlin.
some especially good drilling zones are located under the Schlossplatz and the Museuminsel.
however, the first to be drilled should be the Mauerpark, in order to persuade the Economy and Politics to clear unprofitable cultural sites for some good old oil drilling!


we´d like to invite you Wendnesday , 7. October 12:30 - 14:30 pm to witness the opening of Berlin´s first official Oilfield site SPREEFELD 1 .


Tom Tykwer and his team will film the opening of the Mauerpark oilfield for his new movie "Drei".

555 KUBIK "How it would be, if a house was dreaming"

it´s been a while since we disocovered URBANSCREEN, a Bremen based group of free media artists and architects dealing with research and development of experimental media installations and motion graphics, and now i finally found the time to share it with you. some of you might have seen already the incredible 555 KUBIK dreaming house...

the conception of this project consistently derives from its underlying architecture - the theoretic conception and visual pattern of the Hamburg Kunsthalle. read more about URBANSCREEN on VIMEO.

MILLER FRESH M COMPETITON - STAGE 2

every time we have a big event or party, especially the bar crew has a hard time and does their best. as usual, the team was ready to fight, this time with bandaged hands.










we all decided that the best dressed PLATOON member was bartender yoon kyeong.
































before we opened the door, all jury members and artists were busy giving interviews to mtv.
kazufumi kimura is having an interview with mtv's vj son han byeol.
















the two funny guys from the band kap10kurt had an interview as well.




















1500 people came for this event. by now it almost a familiar thing to have this kind of atmosphere.















4 selected audio/visual teams had a big competition and in the end mindbusters and east collective made it to the final stage.














in the graphic design section kimhaemin and kang jin went on to the final stage.















kap10kurt rocked the party with a great live performance until people got exhausted.
