Do you know the TNT bomb? This is a super powerful bomb composed of toluene, nitric acid, and sulphuric acid. But from the 10th to 19th of August, 2007, in the T-space, the new TNT will be born. Instead of toluene, nitric acid, and sulphuric acid, we will combine with T-shirts that represent the ideal and the hope, the critique and the despair, the image and the real, and then we will express the powerful energy of various cultures-this is the Worldwide T Exhibition Project, TNT.

EXHIBITION
As the name of TNT, we won't only exhibit T-shirts created by the representative T-artists. We also invited well-reputed T-artists from America and Germany. Momo [America], Cecile Belmont [France], Sunny [Germany], Komai [Japan], Dekal, Park Jinwoo, Sonyun, Soo [Korea], and the others from Hungary will show you the fantastic world of T-art.

WORKSHOP
As well as the exhibition, diverse workshops introduce you to the T-art world by Momo, Sunny, Cecile and 3 Korean artists: Dekal, Naul and Sonyun. We intend to make this an opportunity for T-artists to communicate with the general public through the workshop. And then there will be a another chance for the public to realize their own ideas to put on T-shirts and to participate in the T-art world .

PUBLIC CONTRIBUTION
We invite the public to contribute T-shirt designs on 'MY MINI' and then we will exhibit some of them in TNT with the other T-shirts.

CAMPAIGN T-shirts COLLABORATION
We asked T-artist Soo, singer Naul and Lisa to realize T-art that expresses the message for the environmental campaign MTV SWITCH. We will donate the profits of this collaboration to an environmental protection association in Seoul.

T+OBJECT
We have another project using T-shirts without any print on it. In other words, in T+OBJECT project, T-shirts aren't allowed to express any messages on them but instead the T-shirts will become physical objects. Being reformed to represent the ideals and creativity of various artists.

*participating artists: Baek Jiwon [architect], Kimbanjang [singer], Kim Taewan [photographer], Hyaesin [DJ], Lee Yunjung [singer, art director], Lisa [singer], Sagang [movie director], Yujuju [artist], Yunjin [art director], etc.

OPENING
Momo from America performs Live painting on the 10th for celebrating the opening of TNT. Besides this, we will prepare an opening party, a closing party and other exciting programs.

The exhibition is free of charge.
The workshop is held by reservation.
Welcome to TNT world!

T-shirts, a fashion item that the people on Earth have at least one or more according to the non-official statistics because maybe we have more than underwear in our closets. Now, T-shirts are not just a type of clothing formed by two sleeves and two parts rapping the upper half of the body, but in fact they have become the most universal fashion item of today. Nobody is surprised any more at the sight of a native wearing T-shirts in the jungle.

This is why T-shirts are really universal. So T-shirts developed from a piece of clothing into the public media on which we can express our ideas. It is not too much to say that the T-shirts are evolving into the canvas for expression. T-shirts express things like simple images to the idea, the critic of the real, and the political opinion of the individual.

As showing this tendency, there are already remarkable T-shirts brands (AA, BEAMS T, GRANIPH, CLUB KING) and the T-shirt public contribution and contest are not rare any more. Nevertheless there is no exhibition yet that can represent the identity of today's T-shirts. So our TNT starts at this point.

TNT will happen every year and move all over the world.

ic! berlin

Judith • August 10. 2007 • URBAN COMMUNICATION
we love!
with its use of a patented technology, screwless-spring-hing-insert-system and ultra-light, ultra-thin sheet stainless steel these sunglasses are berlins hottest range of eyewear.
they are not just for pretty faces as you can see on the picture.
a constant stream of new design talent and immense pride in their in-house manufactering techniques (their frames are made from scratch in Berlin, then hand-finished) gives spectacular wearers something special.
“ic! berlin is a platform for the realisation of exciting ideas, simplicity, clarity and brilliant ingenuity.“says ralph anderl, the managing director.

this monday, 13th of august, they have an open day, where everyone can come and have a look at the way of production, have lunch, chill out and last but not least make party in the shop with „schnittchen and sektchen“ included.

start: 13.00 saarbrücknerstr. 37
19.00 party max-beer-str.17
don’t miss it!

"GENUG GESPART!": NEW NATIONWIDE CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCED

Christoph • August 9. 2007 • POLITICAL AFFAIRS
today we announced a nationwide political campaign with a press conference in berlin. within the last months PLATOON did the concept and realization for this campaign which will be placard beginning september with 4 simultaneous motives. another two series will follow during the next months. including a complex website (start: beginning september)

the photography was perfectly done by patrick voigt.

it's an image campaign for civil services in germany. the two big workers unions ver.di and dbb work together for the upcoming bargaining and so they decided to launch political campaing to inform the people and the media of the worse situation within our civil services.

the claim 'GENUG GESPART!' ('ENOUGH SAVING!') denounces the reduction of the budget for civil services.

the billboard in the pictures tells that 10.000 jobs in youth work where cancelled so 25% of youth work is not longer existing. there will be other examples such as public transportation, hospitals, public pools, theaters, etc..

so: let's change something!

Misplaced advertising

Judith • August 8. 2007 • URBAN COMMUNICATION
the „itambe“ enterprise is making what I consider an all out assault on women dignity.
classic movie scenes are reworked to feature „larger“ ladies für example mena suvari in american beauty- the tagline ist the kicker "...forget about it. men’s preference will never change. fit light yogurt."
this kind of advertising goes against the general tendency of corporate social responsibility like dove, who tries to show „normal“ women in their publicity. dove increased fifteen per cent of sales since the release of the new poster, where you can see six chubby women.
since september they enhance workshops for young women with eating disorders.
maybe the first thing they should learn is to close their eyes and to avoid stupid untasty light yogurt advertising.

FESTIVAL ARS ELECTRONICA 2007 - GOODBYE PRIVACY

Angela • August 1. 2007 • URBAN COMMUNICATION
again something from my hometown linz (austria) ...

the annual (since 1979) and by now also international known ARS ELECTRONICA is a festival for art, culture & technology. this year the festival is devoted to the topic 'GOODBYE PRIVACY'.

a new culture of everyday life is now upon us, bracketed by the angst-inducing scenarios of control and the enthusiasm of medial self-profiling. everything seems to be public and nothing’s private anymore. panopticon or freedom (of opinion)? this perfect control is fascinating and concurrently frightening.

by symposia, exhibitions, performances and interventions, the ARS ELECTRONICA FESTIVAL will search out what the public and private spheres mean and the interrelationship between them. the issues, themes and even the framework of the festival itself will blend into a fleeting illusion - so it becomes impossible to differentiate between virtual and real spaces and for a week linz will be a 'second city'.

the combination of the traditional annual program and new program-extensions makes 'GOODYBYE PRIVACY' (again) to a unique festival. among other things this year completely new is the 'mobile atelier' - a prototypical container-modul as a artwork, which concurrently offers a workspace for artworks and exhibitions. another experiment is 'bastard space': ars electronica and stephan doesinger start the first 'architecture contest' in second life, a public contest for architecture and design.

sure, the festival will be also this year a great cooperation of diverse cultural and artistic acts - national (e.g. university of art linz, lentos, ok center) and international (e.g. udk berlin, media university switzerland, fabrique paris).

RIDDLE: contemporary dance at dock11

Marcello • August 1. 2007 • URBAN COMMUNICATION
RIDDLE is a dance performance by Morgan Belenguer and Melanie Lane in collaboration with filmmaker Eva S.Aridjis. It is a creation inspired by themes such as taxidermy, black and white film, fragility, zen, searching, transformation and preservation.
Eva S. Aridjis’s film “Taxidermy – the art of imitating life” visits the world of short black and white video excerpts of a taxidermy workshop in texas during the 80’s while Morgan and Melanie go through a physical journey that moulds, transforms and breaks force using objects such as glass, clay and a mysterious fox.

The soundtrack consists of artists such as John Cage, Bach and Kach Jiyean Gayageum (a contemporary Korean composer) all of whom resonate zen-like ambience in diverse tones. Whereas tracks from electronic music artists Otto von Schirach and Errorsmith bring a driving force in contrast. RIDDLE rides on the border between fantasy and reality, provoking an emotional yet abstract journey, questioning ones perception of time, space and situation, constructing in end effect…an unanswered riddle.

The performance will be presented on the 2.3.4.5 of August at DOCK 11 (Kastanienalle 79) and will start at 21:00.

Everyone is welcome to come around…and try to solve the RIDDLE!
