NIGHT FLEA MARKET VOL.1 @ PLATOON KUNSTHALLE
ubin • September 7. 2009 • KUNSTHALLE
on saturday the first night flea market presented by bling magazine and PLATOON KUNSTHALLE took place.45 non-commercial sellers brought all kinds of stuff like hand made accessories, old school cameras and glamourous disco outfits to make our shoppers' hearts beat faster.
the atmosphere was relaxed and cheerful.
everytime i bought something, i got smiling faces and applause from the sellers, even for a 1000 won shirt – that's consumption i really like!
while shopping was going on we were entertained by musicians and the hilarious mc phryme, who led the auction. afterwards djs turned the flea market into a party.
amongst fashion victims and fresh hot dogs we had a pleasant night.
happy sellers and satisfied shoppers everywhere...
handmade accessories were really popular among the shoppers and me.
sonick mc heated up the flea market with live raps...
musicians kwon ooyoo and lee sangheon had an entertaining show including frying pans and dance performances in the middle of the flea market...
mc phryme led a funny auction where he sold sunglasses, shoes and much more.
about 300 visitors shopped and hung out in a cheerful atmosphere.

for their series "durch die nacht..." (into the night ...) the tv channel arte visited us at the PLATOON Berlin. two german political experts have been our guests. famous spin doctor, ex-chief editor from bild am sonntag and critical blogger Michael Spreng joined former government spokesman and ex-chief editor form SPD's party magazin "vorwärts" Uwe-Karsten Heye.in a warm summer night and with a cold drink, Christoph hosted them while chatting with them about the current political situation and german party campagnes at our outdoor bar.
for the next 5 days - watch the complete episode here:

kickstart
udo lee • September 3. 2009 • URBAN COMMUNICATION
money, but no good ideas. good ideas, but no money. both constellations are kind of a waste of resources. so when i found kickstarter today (it's not new, only new to me), i immediately thought it is a good idea. people with ideas (and no money) present their project and raise money through the website. it's not a pure donation system though, those who back up a project get something out of it. what good it can do depends on the project. sometimes it helps financing projects like the production of an album (like 'kind of bloop'), sometimes it helps to avoid wasting good things.

I survived
Mata • August 31. 2009 • PLATOON.members
The mission was to fly to Seoul and celebrate Christoph's B-day in the biggest party a human can resist. In the end a platoon of 6 members flew to PLATOON.seoul to have a hard time...This is the beginning of the night...
It really was a great time between good friends and nice people, I am thankful that I manage to see the sun again... A lot of the pictures are classified "eyes only" but have fun with this video, and see you around...
P.S. Thank you Soul for the great time!!!

GRAFFITI IS NOT A CRIME!
Marcello • August 24. 2009 • URBAN COMMUNICATION
this is ridicoulous!!!a 19 year old kid got sentenced to 8 years in prison for tagging some walls in his city, thats one of the harshest and longest sentences for graffiti related vandalism to date. prosecutors said these are the consequences for the choices he made.
well now he is going to go to jail with murderers, robbers, and real gangsters... in the words of one of the speakers : „for this kindergarten crime he´s going to learn how to be a man!“. well done! thats the best way to breed criminals! I´ve never heard such a narrow minded statement. people in texas should uphold the values of democracy and freedom that their country tries to spread around the world...
i would have expected to hear such a story from some country ruled by a dictatorial regime, not from the country that claims to protect freedom of expression and constantly wants to be an example for the rest of the world.
to jail a kid for 8 years for writing upon walls is a crime!
wake up people!
