PLATOON KUNSTHALLE OPENING: ROCK THE BLOCK

hello everybody,

PLATOON KUNSTHALLE is ready to roll!
we are happy to invite you to fire it up at PLATOON KUNSTHALLE on april 11&12.
this weekend will give you a taste of what's to expect in the future.

in the showcases a series of exhibitions of the finest subcultural artists will be presented.
we are happy to feature nana, song baksa, fur/etoy corporation and brad downey as the first artists to start this promising series.

PLATOON KUNSTHALLE is also happy to announce the first crews and artists who will bring life into the studio residency containers.
park soomi, the tnt crew and junkhouse will introduce themselves and their work.

on saturday we open doors at 4pm with a bbq, a great opportunity to look around and get a feel for the space itself. from 9pm the party is on!
live performances and dj sets will heat up the night with raw and juicy sounds.

2009년 4월 11일을 기점으로 PLATOON KUNSTHALLE가 문을 활짝 엽니다.
꼭!!! 오셔서 PLATOON KUNSTHALLE 와 함께 재미난 culture경험을 하세요~.

11일 토요일에는 1층 showcase에서는 작은 전시회들이 열리며 옥상전망대에는정통 독일 쏘세지 BBQ가 있고 멋진 야외 bar가 열립니다.
2층 studio에서는 신예아티스트들의 작업현장이 펼쳐지고 오후 9시부터는 한국,일본,독일 에서 온 뮤지션과 독일 ,영국에서온 DJ들이 펼치는 뜨거운 오프닝 축하 열기의 파티가 시작될것입니다.
12일 일요일에는 토요일 오프닝에 미쳐 오지못한 이들과 토요일 오프닝에서 너무 노신분들을 위한 한가한 오후의 BBQ 브런치 와 와인,커피 가 옥상 전망대에 준비될 것 입니다.

LET´S CELEBRATE-COME ON

yeah, that was the biggest and phattest party in the history of PLATOON.

























on one evening visit us about 1000 people and.....they had so much fun. they rocked our new building in seoul.
three bands, three dj´s, fun rooms, great bars.























































two nights we celebrated the 60 years of soles & stripes of adidas Originals








































































































christoph be wild and tom enjoys to smoke his cigarette - both are happy, that this event was so successful.
now the opening of the PLATOON KUNSTHALLE in april can come.











and also the team of PLATOON seoul, all workers, all engeneers, have done such a great job and have had an excellent cooperation. congratulations.

LETS START the party

now its true. the first party in the PLATOON KUNSTHALLE SEOUL will be opened in few hours.















its managed and we are so happy.

ASPHALT @ PLATOON KUNSTHALLE SEOUL

today the building got on important new feature: the asphalt. now the whole site looks like a real PLATOON building and not like a construction place anymore: wonderful!


black fits really good! now we bring the street into the house..





































also the bamboo and the other plants at the car park where planted today.




















stay tuned for the video update of the asphalt crew working with the big machines inside the building: stunning.

PLATOON KUNSTHALLE: ONE WEEK TO GO!

next sunday all construction work has to be finished.. so i just want to give you all a last update before completion:

the main missing part is the aluminum-cover of wall and ceilling & the asphalt floor.

ADIDAS HOUSE PARTY @ PLATOON KUNSTHALLE SEOUL · MARCH 5TH - 7TH

we get closer to finish our new great PLATOON container building here in seoul. so we should announce our first pre-event before the grand opening of PLATOON KUNSTHALLE in the beginning of april:

adidas Korea will celebrate with us their "60 years of soles & stripes" for 3 party days. see our poster design on the right.. by ohyun :-)

if you have the chance: come over and have a real house party with a lot of DJs & bands and also a lot of funny stuff we will provide:

we did some korean subtitle translations for the invitation movie.. let me tell you: even for koreans it is hard to read that fast ;-)

kunsthalle in blue

after recovering from all the new year festivities the construction of the kunsthalle is advancing fast these days. today it looks all blue.

4th FLOOR @ KUNSTHALLE SEOUL

today we reached full hight! means the rooftop bar arrived.


to give you an overview of the sight a single shot is not sufficent in size anymore.. so i had to make some collages:









here the view from the rooftop bar to the chill area in 4th floor. imagine hanging out the whole night under the sky!

just to remember: this is our bar inside the hall.









and here a view standing at the upcoming second part of the hall which will be covered next saturday for completion. this will actually double the size of the building you see now.

on the 3rd floor you see our 4th office container which will have a glass window wall to look down to the hall.
