SOME WORK - SOME FOOD!

on tuesday (yesterday) we had our second meeting with the adidas-marketing-squat in asia-pacific: hisako esaki (director of communications) and marcus spurell (manager new media) gave us an extended presentation of an upcoming project which will be realized 2007 in hong kong, beijing and tokyo first. we were briefed about the goals and aims of this project. so we will make our thoughts and brainstorms during the next 10 days. when we come back to hong kong after seoul we will make a presentation to them. about our ideas concerning this project.

at night we met with gary chow (senior editor) and craig carl cheung from milk-magazine. it's they ONE street and lifestyle magazine in hong kong. they gave us a short but intensive overview in hong kong youth culture: shopping! millions of youngsters fly around thousands of small shops to find the newest and hippest snickers from japan.. incredible impression!

afterwards we had a real overwhelming dinner: hong kong hot pot! lots of different variations of different meat: watch the movie!

FIRST MEETING: ADIDAS

on monday we had our first meeting with the adidas division 'asia-pacific'. the picture shows their building in taikoo shing. we met jürgen strafe the vice-president of marketing & sales devision who we know already from berlin.. he gave us a short overview to the devision and then we had a really nice dinner with him and his wife ilse. we made some nice videos during the night which we will cut to a short movie and put online here on the blog soon..

hongkong is so amazing!

we just arrived in hongkong and this is our first view out of the hotelroom.
after a small nap we are now one the way to our first meeting here.

MINDESTLOHN-Performance

we have been consulting the trade-union campaign for the introduction of a statutory minimum-wage since the beginning of the year. above other things with a weblog for the campaign. at the present phase we are also conceiving the strategies for activist´s demonstrations. an elaborated 'go.stop.act' demo should be taking place on the first of may demonstration here in berlin.: hypereal puppet representing several underpaid professions will be used as eye-catcher for the demonsrtations. the process of developing and constructing the puppets was actually amazing.

the five puppets stand for professions suffering particulary for being beneath a minimum-wage status, as for example: security guards, waiters, nurses, dustbinmen and kitchen personell.

the demo was really funny (we really enjoyed it) and, as we hoped, it left behind a visual memory of the event, something which keeps implementing the aesthetics of trade-union demonstrations. the media sprung on it immediatily: a direct hit!

now the puppets will be going on tour throughout germany in order to be used for other minimum-wage campaign related demonstrations.




schon seit anfang des jahres betreuen wir ja die gewerkschafts-kampagne zur einführung des gesetzlichen mindestlohns. unter anderem auch mit einem kampagnen-weblog. in der jetzigen phase konzipieren wir deshalb aktionen für aktivisten.

für die grosse 1. mai demonstration in berlin sollte endlich mal eine aufwendige 'go.stop.act' aktion umgesetzt werden: überlebensgrosse puppen als eye-catcher bei aktionen. schon das entwickeln und bauen der puppen war super..

die fünf puppen visualisieren berufe, die besonders unter lohn-dumping zu leiden haben: wachleute, servicekräfte, arzthelferinnen, müllmänner und küchenpersonal.

die aktion hat riesig spass gemacht und – wie erhofft – einen visuellen eindruck hinterlassen, der die ästhetik von gewerkschaftsdemos weiterentwickelt. die medien sind sofort darauf angesprungen: volltreffer!

nun gehen die puppen auf tour durch deutschland um bei mindestlohn-aktionen eingesetz zu werden.

The initiative Minimum-wage has started

once again a topic we hold dearly to our hearts... it´s about years we´ve been witnessing wages, especially those being already near to the minimum wage domain, falling even closer towards the boundaries of poverty.
nevertheless nobody seems to be interested to know how people should be managing to live from such meagre wages. signs of this situation seem to have been reaching slowly even our neighbourhood here in berlin-mitte, being already a harsh reality for some people within our friends circle

our trade-union has therefore started an initiative to address the problem and in the run-up to the campaign, pleaded us to take care about the online strategy and of course to keep advising them on the best course of action with some counselling.

oh well, we didnt want to hide this from you of course, at the contrary – we are inviting all of you to partecipate actively to this cause.

sign up as a supporter on the website, spread the url, discuss your opinions with us on the weblog, but more than anything, don´t pay wages under 7.50 euro an hour, that should simply become the minimum standard in germany!



Initiative Mindestlohn gestartet

mal wieder ein thema was uns besonders am herzen liegt. seid jahren fallen die löhne im niedriglohnbereich richtung armutsgrenze und keinen interessiert es wie die menschen davon noch leben sollen. auch hier in berlin-mitte ist das thema langsam angekommen und für einige aus unserem bekanntenkreis realität.

unsere gewerkschaft hat dazu eine initiative gegründet und uns im vorfeld darum gebeten, das doch mal onlinestrategisch mit zu denken und dann natürlich auch zu betreuen.

na ja, und das wollen wir euch natürlich nicht vorenthalten. ganz im gegenteil - wir bitten euch alle um tatkräftige unterstützung.

tragt euch auf der website als unterstützer ein, verbreitet die url, diskutiert mit auf dem weblog, aber vor allem, zahlt keine löhne unter 7,50 euro. das sollte einfach ein minimum in deutschland werden.

LIDL-WEBLOG GESTARTET

Oft werden wir gefragt, warum wir den so wenig über unsere Jobs schreiben. Das hat natürlich die unterschiedlichsten Gründe auf die ich hier aber nicht näher eingehen möchte. Auftragsposen ist halt nicht unser Ding.;)
Aber heute und dazu aus aktuellem Anlass wollen wir euch diesen neuen Blog von ver.di ans Herz legen. Jeder hat bestimmt in den letzten Wochen von den unsäglichen Arbeitsbedingungen bei der FIrma Lidl gehört und einigen dürfte das Schwarzbuch-Lidl (herausgegeben von ver.di) auch ein Begriff sein. Wir sind seit einigen Monaten mit der Konzeption, der Entwicklung und der Produktion eines Weblog-tools für die Gewerkschaft ver.di beschäftigt und haben Ende des Jahres 04 den Lidl-Weblog ans Netz gebracht. Und der geht so richtig ab. Es hat uns über ein Jahr Zeit, Geduld und Überzeugungskraft gekostet um bei ver.di dieses Tool zu installieren. Aber wir haben es geschafft und alle sind begeistert. Puhhh...
Es würde uns sehr freuen wenn ihr diesen LIDL-BLOG auch über eure Kanäle weiter verbreitet und somit einen Teil gegen dieses menschenverachtende Unternehmen beitragt. Danke dafür.
