NONSPHERES IV is the latest work of luis berríos-negrón's investigation into the contemporary tension between nature and technology. this project will take the shape of a digitally generated lattice. the simulation of a carbon tetrahedral lattice will fill the whole gallery - suggesting a continuous remote set of relationships, intended to incite what freud calls 'oceanic feelings' (or infantile sensation of oundlessness between the ego and the outside world) and it's further supported by works on two geopolitically charged locations teufelsberg (berlin) and bibi mahro (kabul).
we've already reported about luis berríos-negrón.

Well Well Well,
We have some very arrogant pseudo academic assertions over here... my dear, if you could just realize how "idiotic" your commentary is, you would feel ashamed.
First of all, for your own information, Luis Berrios-Negron is a very good friend of ours and he courtesly asked us to insert a text HE wrote about his new exhibition "Nonspheres IV" in our blog... so if you really have something to complain about, or if you want someone to debate about your disputable opinions, I would love to redirect you to the artist himself, perhaps he might be able to elucidate your contrived ideas which, as it seems to me, only serve to boost your pleasure in something by which you measure your self-worth.
So, please Dina, spare us your ridiculous and badly formulated remarks and learn some manners. there are many ways to bring across your opinions, yours is simply out of place.
Best Regards
Marcello
P.S
We rarely google our researches ....we are usually personally involved with the topics we present.
But you are very welcome to come and visit us in person, if you wish to explain yourself in a more constructive way or if you simply want to apologize for being such a cretin.
No bad feelings, but I just can´t stand when people think they know better when they don´t know much at all....hope you enjoyed the burgers at the vernissage.. I mean, just in case you were actually there.
Oh my... uh, Hi there, I am Luis, and NonspheresIV is my work... I see a bit of a miscommunication here between the first and second comments... I am very interested in debating, so I would be more than happy answer any questions... here or via my email
To the first comment, sorry it puts you to sleep... but of course, thats yr right. Perhaps you could give it a chance if you see it as performative, cultural experiment about networked logic, not a formal, physical structure-oriented one... i think a better reference to my work, strictly speaking of my recycled polyethelene rope lattice, could be Gertrud Goldschmidt or GEGO who was referrred to me recently by a friend. As far as the second comment, although a bit too harshly expressed, has a couple of excellnt points... since my visit to Bilbao in 2001, and after surveying the work of Andrea Fraser, I make every effort to make work that is outside the, to use yr phrase - "phalicselfreference of the pre-post gehry boys"... the technical aspect of the lattice is part of the same skill, which is digital fabrication, which I think is a hugely powerful tool, but one that has to be carefully addressed... in light of the abuse of mass customization (Hal Foster explains this much better than me). And as far as Fuller, yes, Nonspheres is in fact intended to criticize the 'misuse' or better yet the missapropriation of affirmative, creative ideas by power structures... Not only did I have Fuller in mind (evidenced by the NSAdomes at Teufelsberg) but more so the natural scientist V.Vernadsky whose ideas about human creativity as geological force became mantra for the colonial project of the Stalin regime... culminating in the failed Afghanistan invasion... at any rate, hopefully the sequence of images in my website and that of Program can portray some aspects behind these intents... not as grand narrative but as a visceral experince. in the end, the alapha channel which colapses or flattens the lattice, the videos in Teufelsberg and BibiMahro, with the audience, is to me the crux of the project... I know the lattice is a powerful visual, but I hope that both of you give the piece a chance and come by to see it again... Invariably, I Thank you both for the comments and definately Thank Platoon not only for disseminating my work so generously but also for all their efforts in general. Attentively, Luis
