RADICAL ART INTERVENTION AGAINST LANDMINES

one and a half years ago i posted an article about a video which now gets a new quality:

today i found another intervention against landmines: the irish artist will st. leger prepared 100 faked landmines and placed them in the public parks and playgrounds. the movie does one thing while watching it.. the artwork creates something even stronger if you find it while walking in your 'save' city.

the latest newcomer book from the leipziger buchmesse:

anne von vaszary, a friend of platoon, published
her first book »rock mich«, a racy story about a fast, unconsidered life and the brutal intensity of growing-up.

anne von vaszary, was born in 1975 in großenhain (dresden). after education as sport-teacher, she studied dramaturgy at the university of film and tv in potsdam-babelsberg. anne lives in berlin, working as drama director and author, among other things for TV.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH from GLOBAL ARTIST

GLOBAL ALIEN is an artist-group, which consists of six artists from korea, austria, germany, island and denmark. the artists get in touch with the phenomenon of the globalisation and their focus is on the global difference, which outruns the cultural and national boundaries.

different from traditional exhibitions, where you normally see accomplished works, the artists of GLOBAL ALIEN create their works straight at the exhibition.

FREEDOM OF SPEACH presents artistically the medial reality, which concurrently connects and exstranges our world. the location for the exhibition in seoul is a "tv-studio" and by performances, films and workshops every visitor also could be a part of the exhibition.

EXHIBITION TAKAHIRO SUZUKI: IKIRO - BE ALIVE

on thuesday at künstlerhaus bethanien starts an impressive exhibition of takahiro suzuki , a japanese artist.

suzuki studied at the university of arts in tokyo, afterwards he worked in new york. at the moment he is servitor at the künstlerhaus bethanien in berlin.

since ten years suzuki works on his project IKIRO. day by day he writes the word IKIRO ("lebe!") in different contexts, on different public places and in diverse museums in the whole world, like galleries in new york or temples in nepal.

by now, suzuki declares the IKIRO-project to his life-project, so the project will end with the death of the artist.









suzuki also always includes in his IKIRO-performances the different characters of the diverse places and locations. beside his works, at the exhibition in berlin he also shows a documentation of the bethanien-building's history, which he made in an extensive recherche.

nearly every day suzuki will be personally at the exhibition and you can watch him writing IKIRO in chinese letters on rice-paper to finish his work day by day...

LITTLE PEOPLE - A TINY STREET ART PROJECT

the british blogger slinkachu starts a funny street project. he puts his little tiny figures in london on different places and photographs them.












those figures are placed in everyday-situations: on the underground, in the bus, on a street corner, or just on the street, ...














slinkachu wants to find out, if those little people get attention in their discret presence from people. his work aims to emphasize todays society and it conveys the feelings of lonliness, isolation and also the anonymity in a metroplis like london.

LUCKY TRIMMER is a new kind of presentation for contemporary dance. the point is to give as many berlin choreographs as possible a regular and gratuitous platform for their ideas. the visitors get impressions of the exciting variety of the local dance-performances. the casual show-atmosphere makes it easy to get in contact with contemporary dance and the artists. LUCKY TRIMMER contributes to establish a dance community in berlin, but it pursues no commercial interests.
