tina winkhaus is one of the first members of platoon. her contamporary photographs have a touch of extravanganza and those photographs are a great variety from the muscled, lipsticked posing found elsewhere.

tina winkhaus serves her photographs with a method of traditional methaphara of painting, but tough she transforms those pics in todays everyday life, hopeless, beauty and concurrently in cruelty. tina winkhaus’ pictures are full of merciless kids, humorous animals and vessels of ambiguous content. thereby she creats something special, which is really rarely: from traditional pieces develop a unique new artificial language and at the same time a representation of nowadays possible values.

"HOPE | HOFFNUNG" invites to a journey, with the target to notice that our modern and urban melancholy not makes us blind.

tina winkhaus' photographs are not made for the faint-hearted but for those who dare to get an experience of todays life in a new point of view.

the pool saison has started!

yesterday, while making the pool ready, the heavy storm surprised us. also a tree fall over and so, allthough the platoon jungle bar is gone, now we have another "little jungle" here.

but the storm couldn't keep us off from making the pool ready for this saison. and now, even though the weather today isn't really the best, our pool is ready to swim!

i'm sure, the weather should be nicer the next few days. so you are very welcome ...

she contributes so much here in our blog, that now I will answer to you this question. angi is the trainee of PLATOON. she has been with us already for 2 month and will stay 4 month more over here. in her childhood and schooltime she lived in linz/austria. the young lady is very interested about berlinlife and wants to learn something, so she can pass the examination for studying graphic-design. so I would think she is in the right place here. welcome angi.

INTERCITY: BERLIN - PRAHA is the title of josef vomácka's german-czech exhibition concept, in cooperation with DesignmaiYoungsters (DMY). after painting and photography the third project is dedicated to design.

this exhibition presents design trends and creative experiments from both metropolises and in both metropolises. after the presentation on czech republic's foremost design festival in prague, the exhibition now starts in berlin, in context of the designmai 2007.

designers from prague and berlin present INTERCITY: BERLIN - PRAHA, with editorial support on german side from DMY initiator joerg suermann and with designblok curators jirí macek and jana zielinski on the czech side.
