VIENNA CALLING
Alex • April 28. 2009 • URBAN COMMUNICATION
what's actually going on in vienna ? last weekend i went back to austria to meet friends and attend the closing weekend of the sound:frame 2009 festival.
if you happen to be in vienna make sure to chill out in the yard of museumsquartier, where i also spotted the vienna based sketch & street art journal artyfucked. mq is also the home of art and prankster collective monochrom by the way, always worth a look.
saturday night was the official film start of berlin calling for austria followed by the sound:frame closing party with paul kalkbrenner. quite a fuss about all that for the local scene, resulting in a pumping party in an former underpass now known as fluc wanne.
the whole thing was hosted by resolut, always trying hard to push descent club music to vienna.
so if you are in town make sure to check out some of the spots including this one.

MOVE YOUR HOME
udo lee • April 8. 2009 • URBAN COMMUNICATION
nils clauss is a photographer from berlin, living in seoul for a couple of years now. coming from architecture photography he moved the field of photography to different areas. his new series about declining neighbourhoods waiting to be torn down and being replaced by apartment complexes looks very promising. echoes of people's former lives create a spooky atmosphere and paradoxically make the everchanging character of the city highly accessible. check it out~

Rabbit Adventures: Seafood
Tutu Lee • April 3. 2009 • URBAN COMMUNICATION
One thing i really appreciate about Korean food culture is the availability of fresh seafood. Travel either west or east coast and you'll find plenty of nice restaurants and markets. Chose anything from crab to oyster and they serve it the way you want as a soup, grilled, cooked, raw. strongly recommended to try it out. lasting impression guaranteed. :)

„Fußballbrüder“ Mechanisierung Köpenick – Die Legende lebt!
• April 1. 2009 • URBAN COMMUNICATION
A documentary about 10 pairs of brothers from the historic East Berlin club Mechanisierung Köpenick.shown at Kino Babylon-Berlin Mitte on April 5th 2009, 1:30 pm
In the 70ies and 80ies of the past century, unnoticed by the flying flags of socialism, more than ten pairs of brothers played soccer at the – many times renamed - East Berlin Club Mechanisierung Köpenick. That was and still is record-breaking! In their never-ending but always unsuccessful battle for third-classness they made club history. „Fußballbrüder“ tells the story of the meaninglessness of a historical change because even after the collapse of a world system, many of those brothers remained loyal to the club. Despite the fact that the bone breaking and ligament tearing continued, for some players even several times, the club still exists a hundred years after its formation – also thanks to these people. What has become of them and how are they doing today?
