these days is getting extremely hot and it´s quite nice to hop around from one vernissage to the other...so here a little tip to start the weekend.


very talented South Korean artist Yong-Ho Cha, invites you to explore his oneiric paintings at the vernissage of his new exhibition KOREA vs EUROPE at miope gallery on friday the 6th of june at 19:00.

that´s the openig theme of „Leben Entwerfen“ (design life) first of a series of events taking place at gartenstudio, a project stemming from hamburg.

CALL ALL ARTISTS

the New Life Berlin contemporary art festival, organised by the wooloo.org community, will blow a fresh wind of creativity to berlin´s art scene for the first weeks of june. although it has already started on the 1 of june you are still in time to take part in some of its incredible projects, which will be running until the 15th of june.

the whole project is a collaboration between curators and artists developing Participatory Projects to create new opportunities for emerging artists.

the projects are extremely exciting, like the Flash Job Campaign encouraging artists and other applicants to act as CATALYSTS in developing their own social interventions or the temporary architecture project Caban Unnos, calling for participants to collaborate on building a one-night-house in Berlin...and many more...in fact i better leave you to explore the rest of the program by yourself.

Kunsthalle berlin

staying by the theme kunsthalle...i inverted the url and found this amazing online kunsthalle developed by the mysterious quod est/q-e. once you get there you´ll find an interactive site all to discover.
check for instance nonsense, or love4cash - please wait...then you dont know what you are waiting for - or this amusing Artificial Intelligence program...
(sorry most of it is in german again).





thats such an interesting way to present net based artwork, although it´s a bit from a gaming perspective....in fact i found out that Stuttgarter visual artist Bernd Mattiebe, who also developed the multimedia interactive story WOGGER, had his hands pasted in it. you should definitely take some time and check it out!

berliner kunsthalle

during the weekend I attended KUNSTINVASION, an exhibition part of an initiative to turn the wholesale flowermarket in kreuzberg into a Kunsthalle by 2010.

Kunsthalle literally means Arthall, a place for creative activity, meant as a platform for artists to freely express themselves, away from structures of retribution and out of the need to please cultural tourists. the initiative Berliner Kunsthalle is represented by cultural institution, artists association from friedrichshain-kreuzberg as well as curators, artists and cultural managers.

on the speakers podium at the opening we had, among others, Christoph Tannert from Künstlerhaus Bethanien, who is highly involved in the project and managed to convey the enthusiasm surrounding the initiative. the idea and intention are great…the location as well, but I have to say that the potential wasnt used at its best this time around. however we welcome the initiative and wish them the best of luck!

chessboxing worldchampionship 2008 berlin

Chessboxing fever is raging again in Berlin!
only a few weeks to go before the big fight in Chessboxing's light-heavyweight division.




on 5 July title-holder Frank Stoldt from Berlin faces Russian challenger Nikolay Sazhin. the Russian nation is eagerly awaiting the chance to crown their first Chessboxing king as Sazhin attempts to dethrone the German champion.
