CIA secret prison discovered!

not long ago a CIA prison was discovered just near to our premises! „undesirable“ persons would be kept and questioned in the abandoned building located in rosenthaler 52 during a longer period of time.

the people at gitmo.tv have informed us about it:

„until recently a transit concentration camp belonging to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation was located in Berlin-Mitte“.

some tours through this former prison are also planned for the coming weeks.

so it seems like these things dont happen just in the near east. apperently other similar prisons have been found also in poland and romania. well, now this disgrace has hit the german capital as well!

CIA Geheimgefängnis entdeckt!

ausgerechnet auf unserem grundstück wurde vor kurzem ein geheimes CIA-gefängnis entdeckt! in dem leerstehenden gebäude rosenthaler 52 wurden über einen längeren zeitraum immer wieder 'unerwünschte' personen festgehalten und verhört.

die leute von gitmo.tv haben uns darüber informiert:

"In Berlin-Mitte befand sich bis vor kurzem ein Übergangslager der North Atlantic Treaty Organisation..."

in der kommenden woche sind auch einige führungen durch das ehemalige gefängnis geplant.

so was scheint es nicht nur im nahen osten zu geben. es soll ja auch welche in polen und rumänien gegeben haben. jetzt hat's eben auch die deutsche hauptstadt erwischt!

i just stumbled upon a new video from coca cola: the music is from jack stripes/white stripes....he doesn´t seem to have any problem with the brand and describes himself as a coca cola fan.. well...the video is cool: a 2one-shoot“ with many producers but since i dont want to make any advertisement here: i give you some of the real important facts: tradeunionists belonging to the cocacola warehouses are kidnapped and killed in colombia: www.cokewatch.org

furthermore there is a call for international boycott!

gerade bin ich auf ein neues video von coca cola gestossen: musik ist von jack white/white stripes.. der scheint kein problem mit der marke zu haben und bekennt sich als coca cola fan.. na ja.. das video ist super: ein 'one-shot' mit super vielen darstellern.

LATEST TENDENCIES IN VISUAL-AND SOUNDDESIGN

“Liquid Video” is a vj-festival within the frame of designmay, runnnig from the 4th until the 19th of may. each day, starting from this thursday, will be integrated with performances, lectures and software-workshops (giraffentoast, ryoichi kurokawa, steffi+steffi, fuss!, lillevän, C-RTL, modul8), and berlin based music (apparat, phon.o).

the Liquid Video event wants to engage itself with the following questions. the development of realtime moving pictures from static music clips to interactive performances. art installations and live-visuals will be presented. representatives from theory and production who refer to this topic and execute their own works have been invited to present their works.

at the end, partecipants who took part to the topic „visualarts or clubcouture?“ will be standing on a symposium.



“Liquid Video” ist ein vj-festival im rahmen des designmai. vom 4. bis 19. mai, jeweils ab diesen donnerstag mit performances, vorträgen und software-workshops (giraffentoast, ryoichi kurokawa, steffi+steffi, fuss!, lillevän, C-RTL, modul8),

Die Veranstaltungsreihe Liquid Video will sich mit diesen Fragen beschäftigen. Die Entwicklung des Echtzeit-Bewegtbildes von statischen Musikclips
zu interaktiven Performances, Installationen und Live-Visuals wird vorgestellt.Eingeladen sind Vertreter aus Theorie und Produktion, die zu diesem Thema referieren und eigene Arbeiten aufführen. Abschliessend werden sich die Teilnehmer zum Thema “Visual Arts or ClubCouture?” auf einem Symposion stellen.

MINDESTLOHN-Performance

we have been consulting the trade-union campaign for the introduction of a statutory minimum-wage since the beginning of the year. above other things with a weblog for the campaign. at the present phase we are also conceiving the strategies for activist´s demonstrations. an elaborated 'go.stop.act' demo should be taking place on the first of may demonstration here in berlin.: hypereal puppet representing several underpaid professions will be used as eye-catcher for the demonsrtations. the process of developing and constructing the puppets was actually amazing.

the five puppets stand for professions suffering particulary for being beneath a minimum-wage status, as for example: security guards, waiters, nurses, dustbinmen and kitchen personell.

the demo was really funny (we really enjoyed it) and, as we hoped, it left behind a visual memory of the event, something which keeps implementing the aesthetics of trade-union demonstrations. the media sprung on it immediatily: a direct hit!

now the puppets will be going on tour throughout germany in order to be used for other minimum-wage campaign related demonstrations.




schon seit anfang des jahres betreuen wir ja die gewerkschafts-kampagne zur einführung des gesetzlichen mindestlohns. unter anderem auch mit einem kampagnen-weblog. in der jetzigen phase konzipieren wir deshalb aktionen für aktivisten.

für die grosse 1. mai demonstration in berlin sollte endlich mal eine aufwendige 'go.stop.act' aktion umgesetzt werden: überlebensgrosse puppen als eye-catcher bei aktionen. schon das entwickeln und bauen der puppen war super..

die fünf puppen visualisieren berufe, die besonders unter lohn-dumping zu leiden haben: wachleute, servicekräfte, arzthelferinnen, müllmänner und küchenpersonal.

die aktion hat riesig spass gemacht und – wie erhofft – einen visuellen eindruck hinterlassen, der die ästhetik von gewerkschaftsdemos weiterentwickelt. die medien sind sofort darauf angesprungen: volltreffer!

nun gehen die puppen auf tour durch deutschland um bei mindestlohn-aktionen eingesetz zu werden.

Oh no: we´ll be forced to watch this measly Alextower for quite a while now. how bad is that. damn´ world cup- just keep off, all of you...there´s a risk of being infected, it´s contagious-).

we greet of course all the guests coming for the 1st of may riots, something which meanwhile has acquired the status of a tradition.

in fact, the common berliner (like me for instance) cant even be bothered about it anymore, wanting much more to party during the mayfest then smashing shops and cars along my way. thats why the excited riot-tourist will probably be left disappointed.

a matter to reflect about would be, if everyone should for once, instead of patying, reclaim something more political out of this occasion. then why not a demonstration for the minimum-wages campaign, since it still is something to be achieved.


zu gast bei freunden


oh ja: diesen masernkranken fernsehturm dürfen wir nun für längere zeit ansehen. wie schrecklich. heissa wm -bleibt bloss alle weg, denn es besteht ansteckungsgefahr.

und wir begrüssen natürlich alle gäste auch zur
1.mai randale hier in der stadt, die eine lange traditon hat.

zwar hat der gemeine berliner (wie ich z.b.) eigentlich keine lust mehr darauf und will vielmehr das myfest feiern, deshalb könnte es für die angereisten krawalltouristen eine enttäuschung geben.

doch zu überlegen wäre allemal ob man dem tag nicht doch ausser feiern wieder was politisches abgewinnen könnte. vielleicht bei einer aktion für die mindestlohnkampagne den es ja noch zu erreichen gilt.

"drunk"

„drunk“, eine pseudo-dokumentarische video-installation von Gillian Wearing, die im rahmen der berliner biennale "von mäusen und menschen“ gezeigt wird, gibt uns einen einblick in die zwischenmenschlichen beziehungen die sich im alttag einer gesellschaft von trinkern abspielt.


die künstlerin hatte sich in 1997 entschieden, eine gruppe von trinkern aus den strassen von london in ihr studio zu schleppen und sie demnach spontan agieren zu lassen.sie wiederholte diese aktionen während ein paar jahren.


die dreier leinwand projection bietet einen schwarz-weissen kurzfilm an, der eigentlich weisser als schwarz ist. und fast wie ein imaginäres knast-labor wirkt. nach einigen minuten bekommt man so ein „Beckett gefühl“ wo man merkt, dass eigentlich nichts passiert
außer einem stilisierten menschlichen verhalten das so minimal zu bezeichnen ist, dass man fast glaubt es
wären tiere anstatt menschen die sich hier quälen um
ihre kleine macht zu beweisen und ihre hierarchische rolle zu erhalten/behalten.


gleichwohl sind die klobigen gesten der figuren
auf eine seltsame weise theatralisch und grotesk.
doch kriegt man als zuschauer trotzdem so ein gefühl,
als ob diese stilisierte welt auf einer besonderen
ebene die dynamik unseren normalen beziehungen widerspiegelt.

rythm of the line

the international graffiti & hip hop film festival „rythm of the line“ running last week in berlin, was an absolute highlight for those who have an interest in hip hop culture.

already on the way to the cinema eiszeit (x-berg) one could wonder about the ironic „no tags“ signs hanging everywhere on the walls...(or were they really meant seriously?)

most of the shows were sold out, the atmosphere, amazing. for instance during the hilarious movie „inside outside“, a documentary about the global street-art movement- the audience at the end was totally ramping. or the movie about hip hop scene in cuba „inventos“-where apparently social topics were more important then the usual u.s style crime glamorization.

but to be totally honest with you, after the u.k movie about guncrime: „bullet boy“, one couldn´t laugh so much anymore. something that didnt hold some people back from partying at club 103 for the aftershow grime party.

das internationale graffiti & hip hop film festival „rhythm of the line“ welches letzte woche in Berlin lief, war für diejenigen, die sich für street art und hip hop kultur interessieren sicherlich ein absolutes highlight.

schon auf dem weg zum kino eiszeit (x-berg) konnte man die wohl eher ironisch gemeinten „no tags“ hinweise bewundern....(oder waren die doch ernst gemeint?)

die meisten shows waren ausverkauft. die stimmung, großartig. zum beispiel beim lustigen film „inside outside“, eine dokumentation über die globale streetart-bewegung – das publikum war am schluß voll am toben. oder der film über die hip hop szene in kuba „inventos“ – in dem soziale themen wichtiger waren als die gewöhnliche U.S crime-glamourisierung.

aber ehrlich gesagt, nach dem UK film über guncrime „bullet boy“, war einem nicht mehr so zum lachen. das hielt manche leute aber nicht davon ab, im 103 noch die „aftershow grime party“ zu feiern
